Kat has a secret. Her mother is a medium, someone who communicates with ghosts. And since Kat’s recent thirteenth birthday, she’s been seeing them too, which honestly is sort of the last thing she ever wanted. Now after a weird moment in the school library, it seems the girl haunting the place is asking Kat for help. Can Kat get over her uneasiness about her new talent in order to help?

I really liked the friendship between Kat and her new friend Jac. Each girl has her own reasons for being a bit of an outsider at school, but the two of them fit together well. I loved the scene at the museum with Kat and Jac, where the moment Kat gets off the bus she sees a man dressed up in costume on a wagon. When she comments to Jac about it, she realizes the man and the wagon is actually a ghost as she watches them disappear through the wall of a taco bell down the street. Once inside, she’s really not sure if what she’s seeing is ghosts-or not. Which leads to a humorous scene when they run into another girl from school.

I’d recommend SUDDENLY SUPERNATURAL: SCHOOL SPIRIT for anyone looking for an entertaining light paranormal read.
